I am a husband, a father, and a local church pastor.
I graduated with a degree in History from Cal Poly Pomona and a Masters of Divinity from Talbot School of Theology.
I was born into the church, married the little girl I met at church as a little boy, and we now parent two children who have also been born into the church.
Life and church has been intricately interwoven for as long as I can remember.
This has made me a little blind to some of the issues of the church. But this also simultaneously honed my ability to critique the church as a true "insider" who has witnessed its inner workings for all of its glory and gore.
And through it all, despite the church, because of the church, I find the Christian faith believable.
I find the Christian faith nuanced, shockingly practical, and wildly beautiful, just like Jesus, the church's savior.
Personally, I enjoy speaking, writing, strategizing, vision casting, and really sharp transitions, while pretending to have self-awareness about the things I enjoy doing.
I also enjoy early mornings, reading alone, talking to my wife, circumstances where the kids are napping, as well as abrupt endings.
